Transformation Scene

Horned snake with arms dripping from its mouth, beside striped and bird-like figures

This scene is the far left side of the panel. A snake with horns and arms is not unusual in rock art but this one is dripping blood or venom from its mouth. The bird on the left has human-like feet.

Wide view of a row of dark-red Barrier Canyon Style figures under a sandstone overhang, the middle figures faded by water

Water damage has eroded the forms in the middle of this scene.

Barrier Canyon Style figures, some with human-like feet and one with root-like lines

Note the "roots" on the figure third from the right.

Close-up of dark-red Barrier Canyon Style figures beside a horned snake with something dripping from its mouth

This is a close-up of the forms on the left from the photo above. There is another horned snake with something dripping from its mouth and this figure also has human-like feet. The form on the right appears to be holding a snake.

Eroded dark-red Barrier Canyon Style figure on rough sandstone

This eroded image is a bit further to the right.

Small Barrier Canyon Style figure that may be playing a flute

This is a close-up of the image above. Here a small human-like figure (5.5 inches / 14 centimeters tall) seems to be playing a flute, which is nearly unique in Barrier Canyon Style art.

Tall, narrow dark-red Barrier Canyon Style figure with a rounded head, painted on a sandstone pillar

Also to the far right is this figure.

Tumbled sandstone slabs beneath an overhang across the canyon from the panel

This is across the canyon, at the bottom, in sight of the panel.
