Glen Canyon Style 5
Glen Canyon Style 5 is an Archaic petroglyph style, named in the 1960s during studies of the rock art of the Glen Canyon region on the Colorado River. Those studies were made just before Glen Canyon Dam flooded much of the canyon under Lake Powell, so many of the panels recorded then are now underwater. The style is known for tall, thin pecked human-like figures, often with patterns and geometric designs, and is thought to be several thousand years old, older than the Ancestral Puebloan rock art often found nearby.
